Josh took a seat at a booth near the window. He looked out at the street next to him which had the occasional car or two go by every minute or so. He had just finished working for his dad for the day, as he had gotten up extra early so he could relax. Right now it was about 11 AM or so. The waitress came by, and he got a cup of Joe and a short stack of blueberry pancakes, his favorite. The server came back with the coffee, which Josh added some cream and sugar to it.
As he waited for his come, Josh thought about all the people he liked. There was Chloe, Adairia, and many more. He couldn't even keep a proper list. he laughed at himself a little. In the mean time, he wondered if someone would be there for a late breakfast or early lunch to join him. He hoped so. he never liked to dine alone.

It was quite unlike Adairia to eat breakfast this late, but after her fight with her mother this morning, she had rushed out the door so fast she had forgotten to grab anything to eat, not even a piece of toast.
Grabbing a seat a few tables away from Josh, she ordered a blueberry muffin, an apple and a small cup of coffee, hoping it would wake her up more. As she thanked the waitress and waited for her order, she spotted Josh, and her face turned bright red. Oh shit she thought, and rushed to get up to use the bathroom, but before she could get anywhere, she knocked over a chair. Turning even more red, she bent down to pick it up and put it back where it belonged.

When the door opened, Josh thought it would just be another regular, one of the old guys, who've come here since it opened way back. He continued to sip his coffee, until the waitress came by with his pancakes. She dropped them off, then went to take the persons order. He began to pour some syrup on them when he noticed a person trip over a chair. Is that Adairia he thought to himself as she stood up. "My God," he muttered to himself as he got up and walked over to her as she picked up the chair.
"Well, someone's bein a little clumsy," he said playfully, helping her pick up the chair. "What brings you here," he asked, hoping to cause enough conversation to allow him to invite her to his table.

Double Shit, thought Adairia, it was bad enough she'd tripped over a chair, but Josh himself had come over to help her out. Realizing there was a bit of an awkward silence, she spoke, "Yeah, I do that a lot." it was kind of an understatement, seeing as she's once managed to knock over a lamp and break her leg at the same time.
"Got in a fight with my mom this morning, so I had to skip breakfast." she said in answer to his second question.

Josh smiled when she admitted her being clumsy. "Happens to the best of us," he said with a playful wink. When she went on to say about her fight with her mom, Josh felt for her. He and his mom never really got along, but he and his dad did. It was weird that way. "I feel for ya," he said softly. "Well," he said, perking up. "If you aren't on your way out, wanna join me," he asked with a hopeful but not begging look on his face with a smile.

"Sure, I would," Adairia replied, she hoped not to enthusiastically. "My mom and I pretty much hate each other, course, she kind of brings it on herself seeing as she has a new boyfriend for every month, even though her and my dad are still married." she explained, her relationship with her mother had been dwindling since she was eight and it had all started, now, it was at rock bottom, while her relationship with her father was at it's best times.

"Awesome," he said as he walked with her back to his booth. "Sorry about your mom. Mine just... I don't know. She wanted me to be all I could be, but apparently working with my dad wasn't enough for her. I try to tell her I'm happy but she just tells me I had potential," he said with a sigh. "Anyways, enough with the sadness. What'd you get to eat," he said. As he waited for her answer, and took a sip of coffee.

"Mom's are weird like that I guess." replied Adairia. "I got a blueberry muffin, an apple, and some coffee. Stayed up late last night watching movies with my brother." Whenever Tim was in town, Adairia was always exhausted, he always seemed to have twenty times the energy she had, which, if you knew her well, seemed impossible.

"Sounds delicious," he said jokingly. He then began to cut his pancakes. "How old's your bro," he asked, curiously. He then took a bite of pancake. The look on his face was as if he just tasted God, if that was possible. He then cut off another piece, put it on his fork, and held it up in the air. "You have to try this," he said, slowly inching it toward her.

"Tim's 21." she replied, taking a bite from the apple the waitress had just brought. It was very juicy, and a little juice flew onto the table. "I'll give it a try." Adairia replied when Josh suggested she try the pancake. Leaning forward slightly, she bit the slice off the end of the fork, and her face lit up, "God that's delicious!" she excalimed.

Josh smiled and chuckled at her response to having the pancake. "Sounds like you just tasted God," he kidded with her. He took another bite, smiled a little, then thought. After this, they could part. However, they could also stretch it out and hang out a little afterwords. But where Josh thought to himself. He got an epiphany then began to talk. "How about you and me head to the lake after this. it's real nice this time a day," he said, not skipping a beat.

"Sounds good to me." replied Adairia. Hanging out with Josh was pretty fun, much more fun than Tim and Blair, her two siblings, who liked to do nothing except drink and watch movies, usually horror flicks.
